TRATA has created a unique atmosphere unlike any in Rochester’s restaurant scene. A unique feature that can be found at their communal raised tables are the tables themselves. The wood was cut from reclaimed Welland Canal Douglas fir timbers, out of Ontario Canada, and was supplied through Pioneer Millworks out of Farmington, NY. According to the Pioneer Millworks website, the wood that was cut for these tables were the largest single slabs they ever cut for a table.

The next time you dine at TRATA, look around and see what else you can spot that has been reused. You may be surprised by how many design elements you find.

FLOUR Magazine Launch Party

The first issue of FLOUR magazine was released on March 23rd at the Culver Road Armory. Co-Founders Mike Calabrese & Eve Lyons (also Creative Director) created FLOUR “… to help further the growth of culture and community in Rochester by spreading awareness and starting conversations.” -FLOUR. That is exactly what they did at the launch party. Their first issue features stories on local artists, an urban herbalist, first hand account of growing up on the west side of Rochester and much more. FLOUR examines Rochester in a light we have never seen, and goes deeper to understand our unique composition.

There will be more to come of FLOUR and we already can’t wait for the second issue!
